the da vinci code
i haf officially read 587 pages of the da vinci code by dan brown. and i think it is fabulous. it actually suceeded in making me do a research on the paintings by leonardo da vinci online...something that i rarely do..in fact, i think this is the first time i did it. but after seeing those real paintings, i think that wad dan brown wrote is rather logical...even though it is fiction. ok...so i am not exactly in the position to discuss the book rite now coz i havent finished it...but the thing is...i really luv the way he creates the puzzles...so simple, so obvious yet sophisticated, difficult..well...u cant exactly blame his grandaughter for not being able to do most of them without the proffessor's help..coz she is a cryptographer...dealing with really complicated codes and so..she will overlook the simplicity of the puzzle...how subtle the puzzles get is really amazing....little bits of dry and not so dry humour scattered over the book...making it an action-packed thing, yet it maintains a rather light mood...like a lot of the critics say:"provoking, but predictable"..well...i am not as receptive to the plot as many people smarter than me...ok fine...thats a lighter way of saein i am rather stupid...but the thrill and mystery is very intoxicating....this write here actually encouraged my sis to buy his other books..angels and demons, etc...i think thats rathe incredible...since the only other author that got us to hunt down his/her books is J.K Rowling...whose works has also been mentioned a substantial number of times...along with that works of Walt Disney...and of course..leonardo da vinci...and the starting of the book also tempted me to actually go the the Louvre someday and look at all of its wonderful pieces of art...ok...so maybe only the leonardo ones....but i think the architecture of the museum is intriguing too...not to mention its geographical location....etc...ohwell...gtg now...got to finish that book soon!!!!!
