yet another week has past..." how time flies"... yeah right. i just spent another rather fun week at NTU. we are getting mroe and more familiar with the lab and some of the protocols...hehex. we did quite some stuff without much help from our mentors..like casting agarose gel with carcinogenic substances. or making more glycerol stock...or running DNA. protein expression was quite interesting. and i MUST say that firstly, boiling mix STINKS and secondly, BACTERIAL WASTE stinks EVEN more. my god... smelly smelly. and LB broth and agar isnt exactly pleasant smelling either..lol. so basically none of then smell nice...besides those with no smell like sterilised water and sterile equipment..LOL. next week we are learning more stuff...i think this is going to be fun. :) . oh yes. electrophoresis again but this time for running proteins..hmmmm interesting. and western blot. yay. no sarcasm here.

haha...nothing particularly exciting happened to me this week. i guess the thing worth writing about is that i applied for some MOE pre-u scholarship where my chances of getting it are very slim considering the other people who are also applying for it...all those *clears throat* people. hmmmmmm. but nevertheless, i shall just hope for the best. the thing is...i didnt really wanna apply int he first place..but since my teacher asked me personally..i thought i wld give it a try and so i did LOADS of last minute work...i dun even haf enough photos and had to scan and print out 2 of the 4 photos required...lol...and i had a little difficulty writing the thing about myself and why i want the scholarship...haha..at the same time, i was also burderned with GP homeowkr which fabian helped me out A LOT by sending me that article which was basically the answer to my prayers..haha...had all the relevant information that i wanted and is also from a respectable press thingy...new york times...haha

today, i had to go to skl for lessons...had hell for PE...my pelvis area hurt from the sit ups...darned...after that, had civics where we din really do wad we were supposed to do...(stupid powerpoint slides on passion purpose drive???? PUH-LEASE) after that we had a rather insightful talk (wad i heard of it was insightful anyway...when i am not trying desperately to keep myself awake) by the medical director i think..of singapore....and then we had the council hustings and stuff...gosh...the nominees this year are so darn pathetic.. and bitchy and last but not least, lame. and there is this stupid loser of a guy that answered the last question which goes along the lines of the student body is not happy about some things that the school admin and figures of authority are trying to implement. the question was whether he would be a true councilor and be a representation of the student body, helping them fight their case, or whether or not he will just listen to the figures of authority regardless of the students. this little piece of s;gihts fd;ihvb said that "firstly i will try to reach a compromise between the 2 but if a compromise cannot be reached if both parties are stubborn, i will still listen to the figures of authority simply because "yah"" and then he said something which can be translated as "because they are figures of authority afterall and one cannot offend them". i was like so freaking appalled by his answer. i am SO not gonna vote for that lousy councillor to be...my gosh..he wun even fight for the student body and make the admin listen to us. why should he even deserve to be in the council. HMPH. you LOSER. such a goddy too shoes...always doing wad authorities tell u to do..never being "healthily skeptical" and worst of all, not exactly fufilling his duty as a councillor and being the voice of the students. this kind of people do NOT deserve to be in a position of power. and seriously, i think this is a consequence of the sort of environment he was brought up in. where there isnt any real people power and the political system is that of constitutional democracy. meaning the rulers ask for your opinions...but in the end, they will still haf their way no matter what the outcome is. for example, the casino incident. i think majority of citizens are against it when they ask for people's opinion. but NO. they still went ahead with their plan..so wad is the bloody hell point of asking in the first place....stupid @#$%^%$#$%^^$#%#@^&^&#$%#$%@#%. man...even though i can tell that i am gonna get rather lousy scores for my GP, but i can tell that i am going to lurve discussion lessons with my dear GP teacher. who is to put it mildly and in her words, "heathily skeptical" about many things...pertaining to politics and also rather liberal use of language. if her lessons were part to the TV program there will be several incidents where you will see her mouth pixelated and the beep sounds...several being a debatable term here...hahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahaha...oh yes..besides G..i haf econs too...firstly, we are lagging behind the other ppl. as in mainstream...secondly..i think i am having difficultly understanding...oh DAMN. hopefully i will get better...GOSH..i am so deproving...haizzzzzzzzz. anyway..gtg le bye.
