at wit's end

pirates of the caribbean: at world's end. well, obviously i'm still not completely over it just yet. at wit's end is a really nice song. i am referring to the part where they slide in davy jone's theme of course.. especially that part. but other parts are really nice as well. anyway. i think i'm at my wit's end as well.

more about that later. i want to dedicate this post to this person. because she is the most amazing GP tutor i have ever seen in my whole life. well.. she disallows her name to be stated on any of her students' blogs so she shall stay anonymous... hahaha. anyway, why do i say she is the best GP tutor ever? because... she doesnt really teach much of what the syllabus requires. LOL. that sounds bad. hahaha. she spends more than half her precious lesson doing something totally unrelated to GP. i.e: encourage a revolution in Singapore to overthrow the ruling party, being "healthily" skeptical (or just plain cynical) of most, if not all government policies, esp those concerning education. continued rants on the pay rise for ministers. snide remarks on a certain powerful political figure in Singapore. that is just her rants about the political landscape. then there is her bitching and gossiping about her other (dysfunctional) classes and expression of her enormous surprise that our class, with our pathetic results managed to be fourth in the whole level (J1 & TA3) for GP. and moving on to more classroom related stuff, her continued complaints on being a sucker for anything to do with technology, i.e: the projector blahblah.. and her string of bad luck with the theatrette (i.e: the Curse of the Theatrette) and the newest one is a complaint abouther crosswired korean branded dvd recorder which cause her to delete what she supposedly wanted to divide. and... finally.. the ultimate... flying through slides and refusing to do activities, esp on discrimination simply because she thinks its boring. yeap. so her class is punctuated with (i am officially bored now, supposed activites which i shall not do... nah nah nah.. the rants continue) and of course... when she is bored... its time to spread rumours of the staffroom which are the most interesting things EVER and of course... gossiping with us. about.. everything. oh yeah.. i like my GP tutor. she rocks.

but even though her lessons are oh so enriching "content" wise, she still manages to teach us important stuff... beyond the curriculum. well.. new vocabulary is one... but another.. is her sharing her experiences.. with a "bitch boss from hell", hwachong experiences and what i personally think is the most interesting... her studies overseas. hell yeah. half the time she was ranting as per normal... but nevertheless... she makes a good point of studying damn hard to get outta the country to study in university. she thinks.. and i totally agree with her.. that the sheer experience.. of living in another country... interacting with people completely different from you.. is much more rewarding than the degree itself. a few humbling incidents.. coz people there are just so.. different.. and in my opinion, better people to interact with than majority of people on little red dot.

simply put: i really wanna study overseas. and i'm at wit's end because... i dun think i can get a scholarship.. even though i try and i really want it.
