you're probably wondering why on earth is terence blogging at 2am in the morning when he is not close to finishing studying for the biology revision exercise tomorrow... i mean, later on. honestly, i don't really know why either. it was one of those incidents where you feel a sudden need to do something. that said, there must be a trigger, right? i mean, its not exactly a routine for me to blog at 2am, look at all the little things i did to personalize a worthless pile of plastic and to plug in my earphones and listen to every slow, mellow songs in my library.
i just realized that i will be devastated if i lost a particular folder in my computer. which is probably why it is always the first folder i back up into my hard disk. no need to guess what folder it is. i'll tell you. it's the "my photos" folder. arguably the single largest folder in my entire computer. moments of time past immortalized in pixels. well, besides photos my friends or i took, there are also pictures i found over the internet, accumulated over the years.
i have no idea why i'm going all "emo" (i kinda hate that word) after looking through the hundreds of pictures and photos. ok. by now you should be thinking... "what the hell. there is a revision exercise tomorrow and terence is so damn free to look through photos and drown himself in his own thoughts... is he trying to get his ass screwed inside out or WHAT" i know I am. but i cant help it. it's kinda... intriguing i suppose. i sort of remember what exactly was happening when the photo was taken. ok granted, that's what pictures are for... to preserve moments in time for... memory's sake. but what's intriguing is that bittersweet feeling looking at all of them. remembering. pictures of friends... of family... and of...... secrets.
i also realized that i have TONNES of photos in school and... with TJ people. a disturbingly large number considering my... nevermind. but fewer photos with my besties. we should get more. but honestly, i dont think it matters. because i've got my memories. ones which doesnt need to be captured in stills. and then there are photos with family... disneyland... always feels good looking at them...
i guess what REALLY makes me think... in the middle of the night... when its all quiet... are those... "other" photos or pictures. every one of them has a special meaning behind them. ok. MOST of them. there is that portion which are there because i was infatuated with a show or a movie at that time... and another section on mindless cam whoring. but the remaining ones... i think they kind of remind me of important things which makes humans... human.
interesting. every time i browse through my photos i remember something different or feel different or think about different things. sometimes its pleasant... other times, bittersweet. but i'm pretty sure i love all my photos, no matter how i feel after looking at them.
thoughts. emotions. secrets.
